On the firstfloor, there are two eye-catching signs on the stairs, one is “nationalintangible cultural heritage”, announced by the State Council of the People'sRepublic of China, awarded by the ministry of culture of the People's Republicof China, and the other is the provincial intangible cultural heritage projectof Henan Province, awarded by the provincial department of culture.
On the rightside of the door at the first floor, on the middle wall, hung a wooden goldplaque with a red background and engraved with the “ZHENG YUAN TANG TI JI”writed by Mr. Guo Zongzheng, the sixth-generation descendant of PingleBone-setting.
Here, GuoYanyuan's grandfather explained the two words “Zhengyuan” very clear: ZhengxinShouren, that is, “correct heart, adhere to benevolence and righteousness”.
Above thehall, hung a copper coin statue of Guo Xiangtai, founder of PingleBone-setting. The firstfloor is the medical scene, preparation skills exhibition area, display theGuo’s Chinese medicine counter in Qing Dynasty, diagnosis table, jade pulsepillow, medicine knife, medicine mill, a large visiting wooden carriage andother dozens of cultural relics.

According to“LUO YANG XIAN ZHI”, during the reign of emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty,the son of Wen Ti, the magistrate of Henan Province, was injured. Guo Jingxing'swife, Gao Yunfeng, founded Luoyang Orthopedic Hospital (the predecessor ofLuoyang orthopedic hospital in Henan Province), Pingle Bone-setting College inHenan Province and Pingle Bone-setting Research Institute in Henan Provincewith the strong support of general Chen Geng and Wu Zhipu, secretary of HenanProvincial party committee. The culturalresearch institute and museum have played an important role in excavating,researching, displaying and spreading the history and culture of PingleBone-setting.
The success ofGuo's own business provides a new opportunity for the development of medicalethics such as the inheritance of Guo's unique skills and the benevolence ofdoctors.
